Backflow Testing

Certified Backflow Assembly Testers

Arkansas state code section 608 specifies that public water systems must be maintained in a way to prevent contamination from being introduced to the water supply by backflow through cross-connections. Common examples of cross-connections would be private wells, lawn sprinklers, commercial ice machines, commercial dishwashers, or industrial processes.

Paragould City ordinance #8-14 requires the use of an RPZ (reduced pressure zone) valve for protection from backflow (city ordinance 8-14 section 1.4), and that all RPZs are to be tested within ten (10) days of installation and annually thereafter (city ordinance 8-14 section 1.9).

Any master plumber can install an RPZ valve, but someone with an Arkansas Backflow Testing license is required to test an RPZ valve. For your convenience, a list of local testers can be found below.

If you have any questions or need to inform us that an RPZ valve has been installed or tested, please contact Terry at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
